“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
― Neil Gaiman
Eight years ago I set out to write a story about a half-Latina tween with an iron will who is transported to a world with dragons. Surviving in that world teaches her about courage, loyalty, and forgiveness. She also learns she is stronger than she ever thought possible.
I never thought I would ever share The Iris of Issoria with others. Fear of rejection was my dragon.
“Talent is helpful in writing, but guts are absolutely essential.”
― Jessamyn West
This year, I finally had the guts to face my dragon. The Iris of Issoria is almost ready for publication. I have chosen to publish Iris independently to keep complete creative control over the content.
At this final stage, I need to test out the final product. I am looking for beta readers to review the manuscript and provide feedback.
